Here’s an interesting one. If you read my entry on the Magical 8Bit Plug-In you’ll know I was let down. It sounded great, but had pitch problems and sometimes plain didn’t work.
So I took matters into my own hands and made 8Bit patches in Ableton using instances of Analog. I (semi-)successfully created Square, Noise, Triangle and Pulse waves. I was testing them out by playing the theme to The Legend of the Mystical Ninja, and I decided to tack a couple more songs onto the end of it and upload the medley. The keys do differ from the originals, if you were wondering. I’m quite proud, it was done in a few hours, so I’d like to expand on it a lot.
Here are the originals for comparison:
Ganbare Goemon medely - Pop’n Music (it’s the first place I heard the song I used so I’ll use it to link to)
Bloody Tears - many many Castlevania games (the one I’m familiar with is from Super Castlevania IV)
Katamari on the Rocks - Katamari Demacy
